Description
The patch has the earth at the bottom to write the astronauts names on. The writing is in red and represents the fire of the rocket going from the earth to the moon above. In this case, the spacecraft is the female and male signs conjoined showing the plan for both sexes to go to the moon. It moves towards the moon to show the 'forward' part of the mission title. There are 11 stars representing Apollo 11 first mission to land on the moon, but three sparkling stars that represent the lost crew of Apollo 1.
