Yes. Tynker is an open, free programming language. With a free account, your child can learn to program with free puzzle and tutorial activities and build projects in the Tynker workshop.
What is right age to start Tynkering?
Anyone can Tynker! Our programming courses are designed for kids ages 7-14, but you know your child best. Kids as young as Kindergarten have successfully created projects with Tynker. Children who can read and understand cause-and-effect relationships are perfect candidates to start Tynkering. For younger kids, try our Tynker App for tablets!
I am new to Tynker. What should I buy?
We have a number of beginner and intermediate courses for kids to learn programming based on their age and experience level. We suggest trying one of our recommended paths for different age groups, which can be purchased as a bundle.
Why do courses cost $50?
Our courses are complete learning systems with interactive exercises, guided tutorials, creativity tools, puzzles, and games. Our beginner courses alone have 40-80 programming activities, 16 games that kids create, and 16 coding puzzles each. Kids learn at their own pace, building games and earning trophies along the way, and courses never expire. And as a parent, you have access to their activities, progress metrics, and creations.
Do you have a satisfaction guarantee?
Of course. We want you to love Tynker (and we think you will). If your child does not progress through the first 2 levels of any course, we have a 30-day money back guarantee.
I have kids in different grades. Can all of them learn to code?
Absolutely! Create a separate account for each child and get the recommended course for each age. Kids cannot share the same account because they will overwrite each others’ work. We even offer a 20% discount for additional courses!
Online courses require a desktop computer, laptop computer, Chromebook, or Netbook with Internet connection and a Chrome (29+), Firefox (30+), Safari (7+), or Internet Explorer (10+) browser. No downloads required. Courses are not supported on tablets.
