iPad Schools are Loving the Tynker Experience!
Last year, Tynker announced the integration of our award-winning Premium curriculum making its way to iPad. Students could now log into the iPad app and work through hundreds of hours of content, including Apple’s Everyone Can Code courses, Space Cadet, and Dragon Spells. Tynker teachers have been digging in since then, and we’ve collected some of their stories here.
Sarah Schemanske – Ann Arbor Public Schools, MI
We were able to have a lot of success using Tynker on the iPads. I taught the PLTW 4th grade curriculum to 3 classes with 24 students each. Students logged in using their Google accounts and it worked great. Loved being able to duplicate projects. Great way for students to experiment and explore without ruining their original file. Getting ready to start another group of 72 students here in a few weeks. LOVE using Tynker!!

Kathleen Kerner – Deerfield PS, Deerfield, IL
“They were totally engaged, loved the activities, and were challenged but successful.”
David Lockett – Bok Academy, Lake Wales, FL
Bok Academy in the Lake Wales Charter Schools network is a 1:1 Apple school. We’ve found success with Tynker using the Drones 101 course and STEM integration. Using Tynker, students can move around blocks of code to create different drone flight patterns and tricks, like flips in different directions. The benefits of actually knowing and writing code, coupled with learning how students can build problem-solving and communication skills, was the cornerstone of Drone Day Go! and ongoing projects.”

Anna Blake – Elizabeth-Forward School District
Elizabeth-Forward School District loves Tynker! Using Tynker with fourth grade and third grade this year has increased computational thinking beyond what I imagined. The fourth grade has used Dragon Spells and Space Cadet and ultimately gained computational thinking from the fun, engaging puzzles. From that point, now the fourth grade is flying drones using the Drone 101 curriculum. I was recommended to use Tynker from a colleague in West Virginia, and I can say that I recommend it to any educator that is looking to help challenge and strengthen already understood coding terms such as algorithms, sequences and loops. With fun and engaging games, the kids in my class don’t see this as work but play which is ideal.

Charlotte Billot – Ecole Sainte Therese, Toulouse, France
“For the 4th and 5th graders (coding club), it is quite easy. They loved the lessons we did on the class account.”
