Minecraft ItemClay is an item which is obtained when a clay block is mined with a shovel of any type that does not have a Silk Touch enchantment. When clay is mined, the clay block will always drop four pieces of clay unless you used a tool with Silk Touch.Four clay can be crafted together to reform clay blocks or heated in a furnace to create bricks . Clay can be found underwater or just on the shore of water, usually in star-shaped patterns.The most common areas to find clay is in swamp biomes, because of its abundance of shallow water.

Usage
Clay can be used to make clay blocks by putting four together in a square (see crafting section). Clay blocks can then be made into hardened clay . The other way to use clay is to smelt it directly into bricks to made into brick blocks.

- Clay is often found on the bottom of lakes and large water masses, but rivers and, to a lesser extent, ponds, can also have it.
