Tynker Teams Up With Mattel to Teach Coding

Tynker is proud to announce a collaboration with Mattel to create engaging new content to teach children how to program. We are excited about this partnership because it supports our mission to provide high-quality programming education to all children. We believe learning to program with Tynker prepares children for 21st century careers, challenges them intellectually, and gives them tools to become “makers.” We have created four free Tynker programming activities for the Hour of Code using two of Mattel’s most popular brands, Monster High and Hot Wheels.

Try the Activities

Obstacle Course
Students complete a set of 20 coding puzzles to navigate a Hot Wheels racecar through increasingly complex tracks.

Hack the Track
Students create and publish their own fun racing game. They choose a background, draw the track, add cars and code them, then they can play!

Scavenger Hunt
Students solve 20 coding puzzles to help their favorite Monster High characters as they try to find all the school crests.

Music Video
Students can make their own Monster High music video, using code blocks to add music, choose a background, choreograph the ghouls, and more!
