Lesson Summary

Create a project that demonstrates your knowledge of positive and negative values.
In this lesson, students will preview a Positive and Negative Value project example and change the weather by clicking the positive sign (red button) and negative sign (blue button). Next, students will follow a step-by-step tutorial in the DIY (do-it-yourself) module to create their own version of the project they just previewed. They will create a project that demonstrates positive and negative values, change the variable values during the program, create drawings based on variable values, and use conditionals to change backgrounds and Actors.

After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions involving positive and negative values. By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., simple events, variables, motion, loops, drawing, basic math, costume handling) while reinforcing differences between positive and negative values.
