Teach Kids About New Year’s Resolutions with Code!

Ever wondered how you can help your child understand what the word “resolution” means? With this New Year’s seasonal project from Tynker, kids learn that “resolution” means a special promise you make to yourself to do something in the new year. This is the perfect opportunity to talk to kids about what New Year’s resolutions are and how to make 2019 a great year!

Here are some great resolution ideas your child can incorporate into their coding project:

  • Make dinnertime device-free and have face-to-face conversations instead
  • Clean your room and finish your homework before eating dinner
  • Be kind to siblings: Teach a younger sibling how to tie shoes, how to pour milk, etc.
  • To get better grades in math, ask your teacher for help during class or after school
  • Learn to play a sport! Get involved with an after-school club or team at school

Kids will learn about resolutions and programming concepts like simple messaging, input/output, advanced costume handling, and advanced animation as they make their interactive project!

Let’s get coding!
