Izzy Uses Coding to Make Interactive School Projects

Izzy is a 9-year-old from Adelaide, Australia who learned to code with Tynker at school. Her awesome coding projects that she made for class were featured in the Tynker community, so we asked her some questions about why she loves to code and what she’s working on making next.

Izzy with iPadWhat are your hobbies? Coding, art, and playing on my iPad.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to make video games. I play Minecraft and some fashion games.

How did you get introduced to Tynker? I got interested in coding because I just like messing around and seeing what little bits can do to something else. I learned to code in school and we have a coding teacher that sometimes helps us with our coding and it’s really fun.

What’s your favorite feature in Tynker? My favorite thing about Tynker is messing around with the code blocks and seeing what they can do.

What is your favorite thing you’ve made? Probably my project The Gold Quiz.

What are you planning to make next? I’m working on another quiz about lots of random things, not just one thing.

Why do you like to code? I like to code because it’s fun to mess around with everything and see what you can do.

Do you think other kids should try coding? I think coding is the best and everyone should know how to do it.

What advice would you give for kids starting out with Tynker? Maybe they should mess around with stuff and see what you can do to test it.

Thanks so much for talking to us, Izzy! We love that you’re using coding to create projects for school in subjects like Social Studies. We can’t see to wait what you publish next to the Tynker community!

Tynker enables children to learn computer programming in a fun and imaginative way. More than 60 million kids worldwide have started learning to code using Tynker.
