New Programming Courses Released for Drones and Robots!

We’re very excited to announce that we’ve released two new drone and robot courses to help kids learn to code at home in a fun, creative way. These courses build upon Tynker’s mission to introduce coding in a way that is relevant to any child’s interests–be it robotics, Minecraft, or advanced text languages.

Both Crash Course and Stunt Pilot allow kids to program drones and robots as they simultaneously learn to program and reinforce subjects they’re learning at school. When they program a drone to trace out a star, for example, they practice geometry and angles. And when they solve tricky puzzles, they practice their analytical and sequential reasoning skills!

In Crash Course, kids program virtual bots, lights, and drones as they practice programming logic and learn the hardware-specific blocks necessary to control real-world devices. This course covers Parrot drones, Philips Hue Lights, and Sphero, all within a virtual environment, so you don’t even need to own the device! If you do have one of these devices, you can use Tynker’s free iPad app to control them!

Stunt Pilot teaches the full array of drone programming skills. Kids with little or no programming experience can master the basics as they program their own Parrot drone (sold separately or as part of our Code This Drone kit).
