Hour of Code with Tynker

Tynker is very excited to participate in Hour of Code, the CSEdWeek and code.org initiative to build computer science education in K-12.

What is the Hour of Code?

The Hour of Code is an ambitious nationwide initiative to demystify computer science for 10 million students across the world, and encourage and help them to learn to code. Anybody can participate and organize an Hour of Code event using Tynker, be it at schools, communities, or workplaces, during the Computer Science Education week from Dec 9th to 15th, 2013.

Tynker enables children to learn computer programming and design thinking in a fun and imaginative way. Children learn Computer Science concepts using the visual platform, through discovery, creative activities and experimentation.

We’re creating a cool ‘Tynker Hour’ of learning computer programming. This will help introduce students to computer programming in an engaging and easy way, in an hour! The main objective for us as always is – no prior coding knowledge necessary – for teachers, parents, or kids. In our experience, this goes a long way in demystifying the subject, takes the ‘geek’ fear out of it, and makes learning truly rewarding.
