From retail and manufacturing to fast food and stock picking \u2013 even writing and journalism \u2013 jobs are changing.&nbsp;To prepare for this future, we&#8217;re going to need more coders. Robot ice cream makers? Pizza chefs? Lawyers? Baristas? Millions of New Opportunities<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The news about automation can seem intense, but the good news is that, according to a report from Forrester Research via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/this-is-how-many-us-jobs-robots-and-automation-will-create-over-the-next-10-years-2017-04-04\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/this-is-how-many-us-jobs-robots-and-automation-will-create-over-the-next-10-years-2017-04-04\">Marketwatch<\/a>, we&#8217;re going to be gaining <strong><em>15 million new jobs<\/em><\/strong> in the next decade in &#8220;software, engineering, design, maintenance, support, training, and more.&#8221; And while we will be losing many more&nbsp;jobs to automation, the roadmap for tech-related positions is&nbsp;wide open. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/half-of-the-high-paying-jobs-in-america-now-require-this-skill-2016-06-21\">Almost half<\/a> of current high paying positions include some coding skill. That&#8217;s a big deal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The opportunity to excel in this economy is huge for those students who get the right education and the right training starting at an early age.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Parents_Demand_Computer_Science\"><\/span><strong>Parents Demand Computer Science&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>There&#8217;s a huge disconnect between the <em>perceived<\/em> demand for&nbsp;computer science and the <em>actual<\/em> demand from parents. According to a recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallup.com\/poll\/184637\/parents-students-computer-science-education-school.aspx\">Gallup\/Google poll<\/a>, 90% of parents want computer science offered in schools. However, the data suggests that schools don&#8217;t appear to be hearing the demand from parents, or school leaders say that there is just too much focus on standardized testing or other classes to address the demand for a coding education.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>We created an infographic to highlight some of the latest trends and the need for Computer Science education.
