He spends his free time with anything related to engineering, science, and coding. For example, I like to build stuff with a code board. I\u2019ve built a tower.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you get introduced to coding?<\/strong> Through the Hour of Code program at my school. It was fun, but we didn\u2019t use it that often, so I continued to use Tynker at home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you look at the Tynker community projects?<\/strong> Yeah, sometimes. My favorite project is the undersea diver project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite feature in Tynker?<\/strong> The feature where you can build your own characters. I also like the new kid characters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give for kids starting out with Tynker?<\/strong> I would tell them that the move button teleports you to where you move &#8211; if you want to make the walking animation, you have to make a line of code for it. When I was learning how to use Tynker, I would put a repeat block and wait 0.1 seconds and move 5 steps. I also have the animate walk in the loop, so how many times it loops is how far it goes. I figured this out when I tried to use the move button for that function and it didn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite thing you\u2019ve made?<\/strong> Probably my Goblin Defense project. I like that it has multiple difficulties so people can start out easy and go on to harder levels.<\/p>\n\n<!-- iframe plugin v.6.0 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"\/ide\/embedded?p=566c64fbd111620f328b456c&#038;controls=yes&#038;autostart=no\" height=\"350\" width=\"100%\" class=\"iframe-class\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p><strong>What are you planning to make next?<\/strong> Nothing yet, because I don\u2019t think of projects I want to make until I\u2019m actually making them. My brainstorming process usually starts with an empty, blank project. I decide if want it to be a game or story, choose what characters I want it to have, then add the game functions.<\/p>\n<p>Luke\u2019s mom Stephanie is glad Luke has taken up coding as a hobby! She said that it\u2019s great Luke \u201chas a nice, healthy habit that he can really enjoy,\u201d and told us, \u201cI\u2019m glad he has found a hobby that is helping develop skills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re glad that coding has been such a positive new pastime for Luke!
