This integration is available for free to all teachers and students who use Tynker and Google Classroom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With the Google Classroom integration, teachers can:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in using Google authentication<\/li>\n<li>Import all their Google Classroom students with one click<\/li>\n<li>Assign lessons and have them appear in the Google Classroom streams of both teacher and students<\/li>\n<li>View how many students have completed an assignment from Google Classroom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Students can:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in using Google authentication<\/li>\n<li>See the Tynker lessons that have been assigned from their Google Classroom stream<\/li>\n<li>Click on the Tynker assignment in their Google Classroom stream to be automatically logged in and directed to the correct assignment.<\/li>\n<li>Turn in their assignments through Tynker and have this appear in Google Classroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_for_Using_Google_Classroom_Integration\"><\/span>Requirements for Using Google Classroom Integration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To use this <strong>Google Classroom<\/strong> integration, students and teachers must have Google credentials, and students must be rostered in a Google Classroom class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Google Classroom integration also works best if students access Classroom on a web-based device such as a PC, Macbook, or Chromebook.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students using mobile devices must log into the Tynker app with Google authentication rather than the Google Classroom app. If students are trying to use Tynker Junior, they will need to log in using the Tynker Smart Pass, which can be found on the student page of the class in the teacher\u2019s dashboard.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Setup_Instructions\"><\/span>Setup Instructions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to Tynker using the <strong>Google Authentication<\/strong> option.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31942  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216120135\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.01.12-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"418\" height=\"266\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the orange <\/span><b>Create a New Classroom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">button if you are adding your first classroom or the <\/span><b>Add Class<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button if you want to add an additional Google Classroom class.<\/span><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31944  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216120423\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.04.10-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"300\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tynker will automatically detect if you have Google Classroom. Simply click the <\/span><b>Google Classroom button<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31945  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216120656\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.06.35-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"336\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the next screen, you will need to enable Tynker to have Google Classroom permissions by clicking <\/span><b>Allow.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-31946\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216121120\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.11.08-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"163\" height=\"419\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the class you want to import to Tynker from the drop-down menu, choose the grade band, and click <\/span><b>Link Classroom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. All the students will be imported immediately.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-31947 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216121443\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.14.34-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"661\" height=\"369\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assign your first coding lesson to this classroom from the \u201c<\/span><b>Lessons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d tab.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This lesson will automatically appear in your students\u2019 Google Classroom <strong>Classwork<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31949  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216121921\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.19.02-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"339\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When students click on the assignment from Google Classroom, it will log them into Tynker and take them to the assignment. The first time they log in using Google Classroom authentication, they must also <\/span><b>disable pop-up blockers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and give Tynker permission to access their Google account information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When students finish the assignment, they can click the \u201c<strong>Turn In Assignment<\/strong>\u201d button, and it will show up as complete in Google Classroom.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Troubleshooting_FAQ\"><\/span>Troubleshooting FAQ<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>My students are not able to turn in assignments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This issue almost always occurs because your students have not yet given Tynker permission to access their Google Classroom accounts. To fix this:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have the student log out of Tynker.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have the student disable their browser\u2019s pop-up blocker.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have the student log in to Tynker and use the Google authentication option.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students should see a pop-up from Google asking them to give Tynker permission to access their Google Classroom account. Click \u201cAllow\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>When I unassign a lesson in Tynker, the lesson is not deleted from my classroom stream.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although we can publish to your Google Classroom classwork, Google does not allow us to remove anything already in your classwork. Once you\u2019ve unassigned a lesson in Tynker, you must manually go into Google Classroom and delete the project from your classroom classwork.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>I don\u2019t know how to update my Tynker roster.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve updated your roster in Google Classroom (deleted or added students), go to the \u201cStudents\u201d tab in your Tynker classroom and click \u201cSync with Google Classroom.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31950 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216124130\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.41.07-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"47\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216124130\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.41.07-PM.png 320w, https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216124130\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.41.07-PM-300x44.png 300w, https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20221216124130\/Screen-Shot-2022-12-16-at-3.41.07-PM-150x22.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Other tips<\/strong>: <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure you are logged into Google using the same account you\u2019re using to log in to Tynker.
