Meet our newest Featured Maker and Coding Cup winner, 10-year-old Dominic from Tennessee! Dominic likes minecraft, legos, and karate. Awesome! Dominic recently spoke with us about his experience coding with Tynker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How did you learn how to use Tynker when you were<\/strong> first starting out? What are some of your favorite Tynker courses or tutorials?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, I’m pretty sure some of the first things I did was Dragon Dash and Code Monsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How have your coding skills improved since you started using Tynker?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n From knowing nothing to knowing a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is your favorite project you’ve made so far, and what do you like about it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, there’s a lot of ones that I really like. Probably my favorite is this remix. I’m pretty sure it’s called Dungeon Attack. I haven’t played it for a while. It’s a remix. I just changed the characters and added a few more stuff, but it’s great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why do you like to code?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I can basically make anything I want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is your favorite way to use code? Do you have a favorite code block?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The On Start block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What are you planning to make next?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I was thinking of this racing game. Or maybe a multi\u00adlevel battle game where you have battle opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What’s the best thing about Tynker?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n That I can make video games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do you think other kids should try coding? Why is that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I think they should because it’s\u00ad\u00ad especially if they finish school early, so they have to do more stuff. And they don’t have to sit doing nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What’s a fun fact about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Fun fact, I live on 48 acres, and I have about\u00ad\u00ad 30 chickens?<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n How do you feel about Dominic learning to code? How does it feel to<\/strong> see the coding projects that he is making?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I think it’s really cool because, as I said, it’s very hard to challenge him. So in school, it’s very hard because he’s very good at it. He’s very smart. So it’s good because this seems to do the trick. When he’s creating something and then he sees that a code didn’t work and he has to go back through it, and I feel like it’s stuff that’s challenging.
