Meet our newest Coding Cup winner, 12-year-old Yash from India! His favorite subject in school is science, and when he grows up he\u2019d like to be an IPS officer. Cool! <\/strong>Yash recently spoke with us about his experience coding with Tynker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi, Yash. Did you like competing in Tynker\u2019s Coding Cup?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, ma’am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was your favorite thing about the Coding Cup?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite thing about the Coding Cup is that we could code our players to do anything. We didn’t have rules that this player could only do this one thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did your team look like?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jersey colors were blue and red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How long did it take for your team to become a winner?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took very long. When I started coding it was very difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did it get easier to code over time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, ma’am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aha, very good. What was your favorite code block that you used?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite code block was move-to-position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you think that other kids should compete in our Coding Cup?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, ma’am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do you think that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because it\u2019s very interesting, and we can learn more about coding from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very good. So how did you get introduced to Tynker?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was introduced to Tynker when I was looking at BYJU’S blog, and I found the Coding Cup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very cool. Do you think learning to code has prepared you for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning to code is very fun and interesting. We learn more from it. It\u2019s very interesting to code, a very different skill of analyzing things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely. Do you think other kids should try coding?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, ma’am. It\u2019s very interesting and fun to code, and we learn more and more as we code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you give to kids starting to code?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can create different things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yash\u2019s father, Subodh<\/strong><\/strong>, spoke with us about his son learning to code with Tynker:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yash is a really intelligent student and he\u2019s done a wonderful job in this Coding Cup. So I\u2019m very happy with him. His work is appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s awesome. Do you feel he\u2019s better prepared for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, ma’am. These things are going to be very useful to him because if he learns about coding he can do anything because everything is digital. And AI, artificial intelligence, is also growing more and more\u00ad\u00ad. So he’s learned about coding, and all things in the future are related to these things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely, I agree. Thank you. Those are all the questions I have. You both did a great job. We’re just so happy that Yash is our new featured maker.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
