Needless to say, we were impressed and wanted to find out more. That\u2019s why we\u2019re so excited to feature Chantelle in Tynker\u2019s Women in STEM series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/kittyknowles\/2018\/03\/08\/syrona-women-founders-cervical-cancer-diagnosis-std-symptoms-endometriosis-international-womens-day\/?sh=6576b4a529d6\">Forbes<\/a>, Bell, who they named one of 2018\u2019s Top Women in Tech, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>\u201cWe\u2019re looking to empower women, to create a paradigm where women are able to monitor their own health.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once Chantelle and Anya realized that at-home testing could one day save millions of lives, they developed a personal testing kit so women could monitor themselves for STDs, endometriosis, and cervical cancer and, as a result, get diagnosed faster. At the time, Bell said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>\u201cAt present, many of the detection methods for these conditions are very invasive, expensive, and infrequent.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But before any of this, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/chantelleebell\/#\">Chantelle<\/a> worked hard at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"education\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Education<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chantelle received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Essex, focusing on Genetics, where she was also a member of the Ice Skating Society. <em>Cool!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, she attended the University of Cambridge, earning a Master of Philosophy in the field of Bioscience Enterprise. <em>And she was on her way. . .<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"postcollege\"><strong>Postcollege<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Her first job out of college was in London as a Business Associate with ZS, a Pharmaceutical &amp; Medical Device Management Consultancy. <em>The dots are beginning to connect!&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-s-chantelle-up-to-now\"><strong>What\u2019s Chantelle Up To Now?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, Roy and her launched Syrona as a<em> s<\/em>olution for gynaecological health; including fertility, menopause, and endometriosis; a virtual clinic focusing on health, wellness, and fitness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chantelle stated Syrona\u2019s purpose in <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/456131788\">a video she posted on vimeo<\/a> as part of the Oslo Innovation Week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>\u201cWomen\u2019s healthcare is an area that\u2019s been overlooked and under-researched for too many years. Our vision is to create a portfolio of women\u2019s healthcare services.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their main focus, however, is endometriosis, which affects over 150 million women around the world. To make it easier for women to get the support they need in an efficient and timely manner, Syrona developed an app, SORO, to track symptoms and get expert insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"going-forward\"><strong>Going Forward<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Helping people through science and technology is what Chantelle does best, which makes her a great example of the kind of determination and leadership that Tynker loves and a true inspiration to the next generation of girls who are thinking about a career in STEM-related fields.
