Back in the spring of 2019, we collaborated with NASA to offer coding challenges to students from beginner to advanced levels. We held design contests that allowed students to dream big about space, the Moon 2 Mars NASA missions, and how computer science plays a big part in that. Today, we just released the third entry into our NASA Moon 2 Mars projects, utilizing Tynker&#8217;s new Level Editor. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Check out the winners of this spring\u2019s first NASA \/ Tynker project: &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CIGwjrVAxHU\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Do_We_Use_The_Level_Editor\"><\/span>How Do We Use The Level Editor? <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our latest NASA projects show off the abilities of our new Level Editor, which allows students to quickly and easily create landscapes, backgrounds, characters, and props for your Tynker projects. Some elements come pre-coded, but everything is editable. Tynker has always been known for its efficiency; students can create in seconds using the Level Editor! In literally seconds- students can start building 2.5D elements right in their browser. For this project, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tynker.com\/hour-of-code\/nasa-moon-2-mars\">Lunar Test Drive<\/a>, we\u2019re building our Lunar Base with many colorful choices:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"627\" height=\"409\" src=\"https:\/\/images.tynker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/20191207110102\/Tile.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19912\" style=\"width:600px\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Add Props, Pre-built Modules, Landscape Elements, and More! <br><\/strong>We\u2019ve set students up to create some amazingly creative landscapes. Let\u2019s code them! The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tynker.com\/hour-of-code\/nasa-design-lunar-habitats-guide.pdf\">teacher guide<\/a> offers lesson plans and NASA student resources for all four Lunar Habitat and Rover Exploration projects below. Then they&#8217;ll need to navigate their rover to a destination using movement commands.
