Roscel, who is in fifth grade, lives and codes in Canada. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She\u2019s 10 years old, and while she doesn\u2019t have a specific career for the future in mind, Roscel wants to have \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a job that has something to do with the internet, that\u2019s related to the internet.\u201d Read on to learn about Roscel&#8217;s experience coding with Tynker!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What\u2019s your favorite subject in school? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Art. I like it because I\u2019m very creative. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How did you feel when you found out your project had been featured? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was so happy! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How did you get introduced to Tynker? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I just found it on the internet!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<!-- iframe plugin v.6.0 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"\/ide\/embedded?p=5a0e429b1c36d145168b4575&#038;controls=yes&#038;autostart=no\" height=\"350\" width=\"100%\" class=\"iframe-class\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8220;Painting with Akira; Flower Power&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>How did you learn how to use Tynker? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I looked around until I knew.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How do you get inspiration for your projects? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes I look at other people\u2019s projects. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How do creativity and coding fit together for you? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I code a project I really want to do, and I just keep doing it. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her dad pitched in, saying, \u201cThe project that she is doing, she\u2019ll just concentrate on what she is doing on the coding, and she\u2019s doing the game or the program she just focuses on that.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Why do you like to code?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I just like it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite project you\u2019ve made so far? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t know&nbsp;\u2013 I like them all!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<!-- iframe plugin v.6.0 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"\/ide\/embedded?p=5a8b8ef3949b564d1d8b4567&#038;controls=yes&#038;autostart=no\" height=\"350\" width=\"100%\" class=\"iframe-class\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8220;Happy St. Patrick&#8217;s!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>What are you planning to make next? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I just made a new one. I got it from a seasonal project, and I just messed around a bit to make it my own.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What do you do with a project when you\u2019re done with it? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I test it so I know it works, then I publish it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Do you ever Tynker with your friends or family? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I make projects with my dad sometimes. He just gives me an idea and then I make the game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How do you think learning coding now might help you in the future? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe I could program a game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Do you think other kids should try coding? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, because it\u2019s fun and it helps you learn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What advice would you give to kids starting out with Tynker? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experiment with blocks so you know what they do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When we asked Roscel&#8217;s dad, Roy, how he felt about his daughter&#8217;s budding coding skills, he told us, \u201cI am mesmerized and happy at the same time!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He told us a bit about how Roscel\u2019s coding journey started! \u201cShe was looking at the computer, so I said, \u2018How about you look around the internet and see if you can make your own games?\u2019 She found out about Tynker because she really wanted to learn how to do games on her own. She likes art and she likes to draw her own drawings.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, he told us, \u201cHer mom and I didn\u2019t teach her \u2013 she just learned it by herself!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As far as the benefits that coding has for kids, Roy honed in on the skill of patience. He said, \u201cI think it really helps kids \u2013 they are very patient with it! Some kids have no patience about doing this work because it\u2019s kind of confusing if you don\u2019t know how to do it, but if you have the passion or want to do something, it\u2019s worth doing.\u201d He predicted, \u201cI think it will be more popular with more and more kids.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks for chatting with us, Roscel and Roy!
