It doesn\u2019t follow traditional methods of showing one another how to do an algebra problem or helping edit an essay; rather, it\u2019s interactive and multifaceted. The project that got maker <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tynker.com\/blog\/pokemon-aficionado-reagan-gives-great-advice-to-future-coders\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reagan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> featured was a collaboration between her and her friend Ian from theater class. \u201cOur teacher had a catch-up day,\u201d she told us, \u201cso we got to do what we wanted. They taught the class how to use the coding app Tynker. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Yofi69kvgQ\">pic.twitter.com\/Yofi69kvgQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mrs. Publow&#39;s Class (@MrsPublowsClass) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MrsPublowsClass\/status\/918192075694370817?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 11, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Featured Maker <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tynker.com\/blog\/noah-fuses-music-and-art-with-coding\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Noah<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> looked at Tynker community projects to learn to code; now he\u2019s mentoring younger peers in Tynker! His story is a great example of the sustainability of peer teaching.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Peer_Learning_at_Home\"><\/span><b>Peer Learning at Home<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lots of kids look up to their older siblings; in fact, studies show that their influence can be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.illinois.edu\/blog\/view\/6367\/205739\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> powerful than that of their parents! Kids like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tynker.com\/blog\/future-actress-sadie-draws-coding-inspiration-from-her-hobbies\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sadie<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> set examples for their siblings by creating fantastic projects and helping her sisters do the same. She told us that her sister has made a few projects of her own, and \u201cWhenever she needs help, she\u2019s like, \u2018Sadie! How does this block work?\u2019\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a fantastic example of peer teaching; when Sadie explains the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tynker.com\/blog\/tynker-physics-engine-1\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">physics engine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to her sister, she not only helps her sister embark on her own coding journey, but she strengthens her own knowledge of it, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peer learning is important to socialization, confidence, and education.
