Meet Brian, a 4th grader from California! In his spare time he enjoys playing basketball in a league \u2013 he even aspires to become an athlete in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n We noticed that he\u2019s been creating lots of awesome projects in Tynker lately, so we chatted with Brian to learn more about him and why he loves to code!<\/span><\/p>\n What do you want to be when you grow up? <\/b>I want to be an athlete!<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite subject in school? <\/b>Math \u2013 I just like it!<\/span><\/p>\n How did you feel when you found out your project had been featured? <\/b>Excited!<\/span><\/p>\n How did you get introduced to Tynker? <\/b>My teacher showed me.<\/span><\/p>\n How did you learn how to use Tynker? <\/b>We figured it out by ourselves! I played [a different coding platform] before, so I already knew a little bit about it. <\/span><\/p>\n How do you get inspiration for your projects? <\/b>I just think of one! I also make projects about my favorite hobbies and games.<\/span><\/p>\n Why do you like to code? <\/b>I like playing my own games and improving them!<\/span><\/p>\n What is your favorite project you\u2019ve made so far? <\/b>I like all of them!<\/span><\/p>\n What do you do with a project when you\u2019re done with it? <\/b>I share it with my class and I ask for likes.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite feature in Tynker? <\/b>I like everything! <\/span><\/p>\n How do you think learning coding now might help you in the future? <\/b>I also kind of want to be a software engineer so maybe it could help me with that.<\/span><\/p>\n Do you think other kids should try coding? <\/b>Yes, because it can help them learn coding and coding is something that everyone has to learn!<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Brian\u2019s father Brian Sr. works as a software engineer, so he thinks \u201cit\u2019s really good for him to start young.\u201d He noted that when his son plays video games, \u201che\u2019ll try to make a similar game with coding to achieve that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Brian Sr. left us with a great insight into how he thinks about coding for kids. \u201cIt can be a good tool to express their skills and creativity!” he said. “Before they used to play with toys, now they can do coding and make something of it. I think it\u2019s really good \u2013 it gives them tools to express their unique mindset.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n We\u2019re so glad that coding has become a cool hobby for Brian, and hope he keeps creating his amazing projects!
