Ysabella Puts Her Heart Into Everything She Does!<\/b><\/h1>\n

Ten-year-old Ysabella has only been using Tynker for two months, but she has already created fantastic projects! She\u2019s in 4th grade and <\/span>enjoys playing <\/span>piano and flute, especially classical and Christmas songs. She writes and sings her own compositions, and even sent us an amazing video of one of her original songs!<\/span><\/p>\n

According to her teacher Ms. Sizemore, Ysabella is a truly unique student who \u201clearns quickly, is an excellent analytical and critical thinker, picks up things very quickly, and isn\u2019t afraid to try a new challenge!\u201d Our favorite quote about Ysabella from Ms. Sizemore? \u201cShe\u2019s not afraid to fail \u2013 but she doesn\u2019t fail often.\u201d What a fantastic character trait! What do you w<\/b>ant to be when you grow up?<\/b> My teacher told me that a lot of girls are needed in the technological world, so I think I\u2019d like to do something like that.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite subject in school? <\/b>I don\u2019t have a favorite! I love science and reading, but also math.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you feel when you fo<\/b>und out your <\/b>project had been featured?<\/b> Well, it was late at night during Thanksgiving break. It just popped up, and I thought \u201cHmm, I should read this!\u201d I was so <\/span>excited \u2013 Mom was there sitting on my bed, and we screamed because we were so excited!<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you g<\/b>et introduced to Tynker?<\/b> I had just gotten moved to advanced math, and the teacher told us that after we finished we could do Tynker. I raised my hand and asked, \u201cWhat is Tynker?\u201d Now, I\u2019ve been using it for 2 months, since the fall.<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you learn how to use Tynker?<\/b> By dragging the blocks to the help to see what they do. I\u2019m a person who likes to figure out how to do things; I\u2019m self-taught. I did do a couple tutorials though \u2013 one of my projects is b<\/span>ased on one!<\/span><\/p>\n

How do creativity and coding fit together for you? <\/b>I think you need imagination to know what your program will turn out to become. Creativity is important in coding because plans for the project are needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do you like to code? <\/b>I think coding is fun because of the endless possibilities. You can make something totally random into a programmed masterpiece! Turning nothing into a unique and special idea is spectacular, and coding applies to this.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do you get inspiration for your projects?<\/b> I like to look at the community and see what they are <\/span>making! Sometimes I see projects that are really buggy, so I like to try to remake them \u2013 but make them better. For the project t<\/span>ha<\/span>t was featured, I was inspired by my Corgi, so I basically made it like him but changed the color!<\/span><\/p>\n
