Build a Classic Arcade-Style game

We have even more to share from our new Coding Adventures! To make coding uber-fun for kids, we’ve integrated the learning into challenges kids tackle on their quest. Then, as a reward for successfully learning programming concepts kids unlock new mini-games to build, like this one:

Classic Arcade-Style Game

Built with Goblin Quest

Instructions: Stop the tanks! Use the arrow keys to move, and spacebar to shoot.

(For best experience, use a desktop computer and mouse or trackpad)

As players direct armies and program epic battles they will learn beginner to intermediate programming concepts and apply what they’ve learned to build games. Click on the blog category “sneak peek” if you want to check out other mini-games we’ve posted so far.  More from other Coding Adventure game worlds coming soon!

Programming concepts learned when building this game

  • Object sensing
  • Keyboard interactivity
  • Loops
  • Simple animation
  • Conditional logic

Buy on Kickstarter today.  Special introductory pricing available only until May 31, 2015.
