Nitish, Future Scientist (or Engineer), Loves Coding!

Nitish Riding a Horse

Nitish is a rising fourth grader who’s turning 10 in just a few months! In his spare time, he enjoys gaming, but also playing outside. And, in his words, “I’m an art guy.” His projects are really impressive – he even created original music for his projects! He’s one of our Code-A-Thon winners from Week 1, so we were excited to chat with him and discover what motivates him as a programmer!

What do you want to be when you grow up? I have ideas. I’ve been thinking scientist or doctor or something like that. And, I almost forgot – engineer! I’ve been thinking about that for a long time!

What’s your favorite subject in school? Math. Definitely math.

Is there anybody who inspires you? I’m inspired by my mom.

How did you get introduced to Tynker? I started out with my mom, looking out for some coding websites here and there. I’d seen other apps, but then my mom found Tynker. I’ve been coding with Tynker for quite a while.

How long have you been using Tynker? A few months.

How did you decide to join the Code-A-Thon? I just found out about the Code-A-Thon, and I decided to join. I saw it on an email.

Nitish’s Mom Sravanthi is thrilled Nitish has been coding with Tynker! His curiosity about coding was first piqued when he tried other coding apps, but his mom soon found Tynker – and they both fell in love with it! She told us, “I’m seeing my son’s progress, and it’s keeping up his interest in so many areas. After two months with Tynker, I bought a lifetime membership.”

She thinks Tynker helps motivate kids to code, and told us Nitish’s little brother is already demonstrating interest in coding! She said, “he’s begging his older brother to teach him how to program the games. It’s seriously making us feel so happy. As parents we usually encourage kids to do something, but this Tynker app is kids encouraging kids to do something! That is the special thing with your app.”

It was wonderful to speak to you, Sravanthi and Nitish! Congrats again on being one of our Code-A-Thon, Nitish. We’re so glad that Tynker has been such a positive addition to your lives, and we hope your enthusiasm for coding continues to grow!
