Brayden is a thirteen-year-old from Singapore. We chatted with Brayden and gained some insight into why he loves to code!

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a programmer when I grow up.

How did you get introduced to coding? My friend introduced me to Tynker.

What is your favorite thing you’ve made? I liked creating the Tiny Dot 1.3. It was really fun.

Do you look at the Tynker community projects? Sometimes I look at the featured community projects. I liked this project where you have to tap the button but the button tries to prevent you from tapping it.

What’s your favorite feature in Tynker? My favorite feature in Tynker is that you get to share your projects with other people and other people can play them.

What are you planning to make next? So far, I have no idea what to make next. I always get my inspirations out of nowhere. Like one day I had nothing to do and “boom!” I had an idea.

Is there anything that you want to make but don’t know how yet? If I didn’t know how to do something, I would think of a solution to solve it.

What do you do with a project when you’re done with it? I always try to update the project and add more features to it. Once I run out of ideas for the project, I stop programming until I think of a new idea.

Why do you like to code? I like to code because it allows me to bring my ideas and creativity to life.

Do you think other kids should try coding? I think other kids should try to learn how to code. It’s the best way kids can express their ideas.

What advice would you give for kids starting out with Tynker?  I suggest that they read what each code block does before using it.

Brayden’s dad, Yig Zern, told us that he likes that Brayden is learning to code because he enjoys playing the games that Brayden creates, and thinks coding “helps him train to have a logical and organized mind.” Yig Zern said, “Tynker is a great program, teaching kids to have interest in coding.”

We’re excited that coding is so beneficial for Brayden. When he found out he was being featured, Brayden told us, “I was extremely surprised when my project was featured!” Your projects are fantastic, Brayden, and we look forward to seeing more of them!

Tynker enables children to learn computer programming in a fun and imaginative way. More than 60 million kids worldwide have started learning to code using Tynker.
