Tynker at ISTE: Minecraft, Apple, LEGOs, and New Courses!

Next week is the year’s largest EdTech extravaganza – the International Society for Technology in Education Conference. We’ll be there, and have invited some of education’s finest teachers and collaborators to share their Tynker stories at the Tynker booth (#758). If you’re going to be there, you’ll want to make sure to put these sessions in your calendar!

This year, we invited authors, Tynker Blue Ribbon Educators, and Tynker teachers to present in our booth. They’ll be demoing some of the amazing things that Tynker can do, including:

  • Tynker for Schools, our vast, integrated coding curriculum for K-8
  • Apple/Swift coding integration
  • Minecraft: Education Edition coding integration
  • LEGO WeDo connectivity and course
  • Parrot mini drones and course

Using Tynker to Keep up With Computer Science

Presenter: Kimberly Lane, @askatechnogirl

Computer science is foundational knowledge for all students in the 21st century, but a shift in paradigm must happen in order to get ALL students learning about computer science. Todd Nesloney: Kids Deserve It!: Pushing Boundaries and Challenging Conventional Thinking- Book Giveaway and Signing

Presenter: Todd Nesloney, @TechNinjaTodd

What if learning was exciting? What if students felt important and empowered every time they walked into the building? What if parents looked forward to calls from their children’s teachers and principals, instead of cringing when the school’s number popped up on their phones? To Todd Nesloney and Adam Welcome, those aren’t far-fetched what ifs; they can (and should) be a reality for every teacher, school, parent, and student.  Get a free book and get it signed by the author!
