Coding Brings Comfort to the Students of Vista Unified SD

Scott Wiessner has been teaching science and robotics for 17 years and currently teaches at Vista Unified School District in Vista, California. He entered Special Education this year and brought those ideas with him. He shares his experience with Tynker below:

Our special education class utilizes Tynker to help focus and motivate students with their academic core. Tynker has improved their focus time and ability to think analytically. The students take the time to stop, think, and analyze their behaviors now.

“Tynker is the gateway to to the digital world in elementary.”

Computer science and the understanding of the digital realm [are] very important for our students. Tynker is the gateway to to the digital world in elementary.

Coding is logical and simple. That may not sound like an outsider’s opinion, but for our students there is comfort in consistency. Coding is consistent and students, as well as adults, enjoy repetition and consistency.
